Hey all, lieve allemaal!!!
Many things can happen in two weeks, we won from Brasil, we won from Uruguay, we lost the final, and Eva and I have crossed yet another country on the list.
Let´s start where I left off, in Boquete, Panama. The ride there went well, apart from the fact that we booked a ticket for a freezer instead of a night bus... So dead tired we arrived to Boquete, just in time for the game! And the funny thing was that we watched it with a guy from Brasil who immediately took off his shirt after the game..... hahahahaha!!!! After that we were so tired, we had a big siesta, cooked ourselves some dinner and decided to go and look for the only bar in town... which was actually quite nice! We ordered some ´Dirty Hands´ ccktails and started chatting to some locals and some imported locals who took us to a disco nearby. Luckily they had a car and the two Germans that also formed part of this group of bored people looking for some fun, had to sit in the back. According to the Panamanian, that´s where Germans belong.... in the back!!! WTF!
The next day we decided that we were really getting bored and that we wanted to leave. So we took a more adventureous approach, let´s see how far we can get in 3 hours. So that same day, some four buses later, we arrived safely in Costa Rica, La Ciudad de Neilly. The next day we moved on towards Manuel Antonio, the first park we wanted to visit. Unfortunately the park was closed on Monday, so we went to another park and to a bridge where you can see a river full of huuuuuuuuge crocs!! They were everywhere!!
The next day we got up early to go to Manuel Antonio, a beautiful, very touristic, park on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. We didn´t see any animals apart from a highly active sloth, they are so cute!!!!That same day we met David, aka Uncle D, an American that was travelling through Costa Rica by car. We met up that same evening and decided that we could go for a road trip towards La Peninsula de Nicoya. First stop Montezuma. We arrived to a great hotel, and went for dinner, drinks and some moves on the dancefloor. One of the waiters told us there was a great bar a bit out of town, so we arranged for a pirate cab, who showed us that cows on the road do not move when you almost drive into them and honk! Since the place was not very cool for two flashpackers and Uncle D (karaoke for 50+) we headed back into town and had a lot of fun in the local disco, woooohooo! And for those of you that do not know, I am afraid of frogs.... I know it´s silly but I cant help it. That night, four people were sound asleep, but one of them was dreaming about a huge frog in the room (which was actually David´s head in the bunk bed) and woke everyone up with a nice little scream.... yes Ruud, you are not the only one that has witnessed this strange phenomenon!
Anyways, the next day we drove towards Playa Tamarino, where we finally got some sun! Nice little, touristy town, with a great vibe. During lunch we met a surg instructor, we has taught us how to surf the next morning, I looooooved it! I didnt know surfing was so much fun! I managed to stay on the board and partially ride a wave, something that we will repeat in Mexico! Since that night it was David´s last night in Costa Rica, we went out to party with the locals. After a nice little merengue start, Eva and I were sandwiched by the Tico´s, while David was putting everything on film, aaaaargh! At four we had some snacks and got into the car towards San Jose. David dropped us off on his way back to the capital, so we could take a bus to the Nicaraguan border. That´s the bad thing about travelling, meeting nice people and then having to say goodbye! But a great new friendship is born!
Getting into Nicaragua was a bit of a hassle, it took us quite some time to get across the border and you immediately see that this country is a different ball game. Everyone around the border wants to make money, either by helping you get some papers, find the bus, and so on, a bit overwhelming. You really feel like you are a prey... We decided to head for San del Sur, because we were just toooooo tired. So the next day, we sorted out some plans and we went to a bar to watch the game. We accidentily joined the table of local homeless.....
I will tell you more about this another time. I just finishd writing the rest of this post, but then the computer misbehaved and all of it disappeared!!!!!!! Next time I will use Word before....
So I will promise to finish this post before we leave Granada!!! Hopefully tomorrow!!!
Bis kiss!!!

Hee Party animal!

Cheers!
