18 Juni 2010 | Colombia, Cartagena
Hey dear all,
How are you doing on the other side of thw world? Today I am writing from a really hot and sweaty Cartagena, so its time to stay in and do some work on the computer! After our experience with the Colombian Mud, we went to a party in another hostel, Media Luna. So far we have mad a few friends in Cartagena, Sushell a restaurant owner and in love with love, Andres the owner of the Media Luna hostel and many more. The people here are really sweet and outgoing so its relatively easy to make friends! However, as we are also travelling, our route continued to Taganga last Thursday.
After a party, a few hours of sleep and some moijtos, a bus trip of 5 hours is not exactly what is good for your body.... So feeeling kind of car sick, we got to a small fishermens town Taganga. Two paved roads a boulevard and lots of dirt roads and some hostels. Taganga is the launching point to go to the Tayrona National Park, which we did last Saturday. The weather forecasts were horrible so we decided to stay close to the hostel on Friday and we went to a beach where I taught Eva how to snorkel.
On Saturday we decided to take the chance and go to Tayrona. Because of the many rains, the route through the jungle was really really muddy and we got stuck with our shoes several times, but when we finally got to the Arrecifes beach and the Cabo San Juan, the sights were amazing!!!! We wanted to camp in the park, but because it began to rain, we decided to speed march through the jungle, back towards Taganga. On the way back, we saw some monkeys, cute!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately I have nothing much more to write, because that same night that we went to Tayrona, some guy cooked us Tacos.... and they were not so good, but I was too polite to throw them away.....and I got sick. So we've been taking it easy the last couple of days, we went to the hospital and I got some heavy pills and getting better every day. So apologies for the brief and tardy update, I haven't been feeling well and I have been sleeping a lot.... diet of crackers rice and chicken..... jum! Anyways, that's the hardship of travelling hahahaha
Good news, on Monday we are leaving with Captain Jack (check out captainjackvoyages.com) to Panama through the San Blas islands, and we are really excited!!!!
I will try tp write something before we leave, if not, talk to you in Panama!!!!!!!
Big kiss, miss you guys a lot!!!!! Really!!!!

Karlijn, Stichting Bamboostones heeft subsidie van de Provincie Brbant gekregen om een subsidie-adviesbureau een Europese subsidie-aanvraag met buitenlandse (Europese) partners te laten schrijven.
Something to think about...?
